Free to Play WMS Slots Online

Players can rock and roll all night and party every day thanks to the famous KISS: Shout It Out Loud slot machine. This free slot game from WMS is built to please fans of the classic rockers.

It includes big reels and explosive wilds, which should keep players happy too.

Real song and video clips from KISS concerts create a thrilling experience that will leave players wanting just one more spin. Let’s take a little trip to Detroit Rock City to see what’s waiting in this classic slot machine.

For a slightly older machine, KISS: Shout It Out Loud holds up fairly well. On a larger screen, players will start to notice that the symbols look a little pixelated, but that’s to be expected.

The overall visual design is a bit of a mixed bag though. Generally, there are a lot of nice touches and some larger misses. It’s hard to make colossal reels feel natural, but these really feel a little squished.

At times, the slot machine feels a little busy and hard to follow. The general design of the symbols doesn’t help either.

While the tall, stacked portraits of Stanley and Simmons look nice, the small picture symbols of Stanley’s face, Simmon’s tongue, a KISS guitar and a guitar pick tend to be a little small and indistinct.

While the game uses generic “A, K, Q and J” card symbols, they are at least metallic to look in theme, and it’s nice to have something that’s easy to tell apart.

Some of the important aspects are a little lacking too, but the extra touches are nice. The betting interface is orderly and includes fun features like the win window looking like an amp, and the Kiss sign at the top lighting up brighter as more paylines hit.

There’s a fun animation of Gene Simmons breathing fire onto the colossal reels when a stack of wilds transfers over. The bonus round even includes a short concert clip when the game transitions to the free spins.

Obviously the sound design is vital for a machine like this. Thankfully, it’s also a big hit, at least for people who like Kiss. Short instrumental clips from their songs play during the main game. This KISS slot machine includes the songs “Detroit Rock City,” “Rock and Roll All Nite” and, of course, “Shout It Out Loud.”

It’s a little annoying that the clips tend to restart or switch with new spins, but there’s still a little time to enjoy each bit while the reels settle.

When the bonus feature is possibly in play, the game starts a KISS chant, which is a fun effect. Full versions of the songs with lyrics can play during the bonus round or when players win enough to trigger a “Big Win.”

The Gameplay

KISS: Shout It Out Loud features colossal reels, which effectively provide an extra set of reels to go along with the main game. This means that there are 10 reels in total.

The main game has 5 reels and 4 rows and the colossal reels use 5 reels and 12 rows. There are 100 possible paylines, although players can choose to play just 20, 40, 60 or 80 if they want.

Winning combinations have to follow a payline from left-to-right, and note that the reels are considered separate. Paylines do not cross from one set of reels to the other. The game does include some stacked symbols.

The Simmons and Stanley portraits are always on the reel as a stack, and before each spin sections of the reels are chosen to have stacks of the same random symbol. This helps set up the occasional stacked win, although it also makes it easier to completely block off a reel and stop paylines.

The online slot game features wild symbols that can stand in for anything except the feature symbol. They do tend to come in as stacks, which comes into play with one of the game’s main features.

During any basic spin, getting a full stack of 4 wild symbols to fill one of the main game reels will cause the matching colossal reel to also completely fill with wilds. Given how tightly clustered the paylines on the colossal reels are, this is a great way to set up a lot of little payouts.

The main game is going to be a mix of ups and downs. Players do have the option to lower their cost per spin by playing fewer paylines, but generally the losses hurt. Even just losing 10 cents on 20 paylines can be rough when a lot of the payouts are fairly small.

There’s no traditional jackpot in the main game. The biggest payout is the 20x the total bet for getting 5 bonus symbols. Big wins are generally going to come from getting either of the stacked portraits to line up well with a few wilds. Players can really get ahead with a little luck on the free spins though.

The Bonus Feature

During any of the main spins, players can see the KISS bonus feature land on reels 1, 3 and 5 on the main game and the colossal reels. Getting at least 3 anywhere is enough to trigger the bonus feature.

Hitting 3, 4 or 5 symbols respectively pays out 8, 12 and 20 free spins and 2x, 5x and 20x the total bet. Note that the free spins will use a paytable and paylines based off of the spin that triggered the feature. Players with fewer than 100 paylines can still play but they will only have their number of paylines active.

Sale

The free spins are fairly standard. The only difference is a slight bonus to the wilds. On any free spin, getting one wild on a main reel causes that reel to be nudged until it’s all wild symbols. This then triggers the transfer to the colossal reels. Players should get to see at least a few exploding wilds during the bonus round, which can help stack up the wins on both reels.

It is possible to trigger the bonus again during a free spin. Any free spins won will be added to the counter and the total bet bonus will be paid out too.

Closing out the Show

Obviously KISS: Shout It Out Loud was built with a certain player in mind. If you’re not a KISS fan, this probably isn’t going to seem like that special of a game. Anyone who enjoys the music and concert experience should have a great time though.

The colossal reels are a lot of fun, especially when the transferring wilds come into play. The free spins are fun too, even if they’re a little simple for a bonus round. The 95.98% RTP is also still fairly competitive so fans aren’t paying much of a tax for enjoying the theme.

Note that anyone not interested in KISS should be able to find a few other non-Kiss machines with colossal reels if they’re looking to scratch that itch.
